As noted earlier, we decided to come home today with light rain falling as we left Lakes Entrance. The temperature has dropped dramatically and the wind has also dropped right off, so we, here in Lakes Entrance are safe for the moment. They are warning us to stay vigilant with active fires still in the area. We have returned home, but we are staying packed and ready to flee again if it becomes necessary. With each evacuation we undertake, we refine our plans. We are very grateful for the shelter we found at Echo Beach Tourist Park courtesy of Cherie and Leigh the park owners. Their generosity, and open arms were a very welcome sight in our day! They have assured us we can find refuge with them again should that become necessary.
We are seeing lots of aircraft going over us – Military helicopters – huge and noisy, smaller helicopters, all doing their bit to help. We are very grateful for the assistance and the resources that the Prime Minister has organised and sent here to help us. I think the political “posturing” that has followed Mr Morrison’s efforts has been totally childish. We want a leader who steps up, and makes some decisive and positive decisions to bring aid to those most in need, this is what he has done. Leave politics out of it, and band together to take care of people who need your help!
We don’t need politics, we need help!
I’m tired, going to rest and will add more tomorrow. Goodnight my friends and family – love you all ❤
